Am i really surprised at how many dickheads are out there?

Hi girls,Just having a vent!
As most of you know i am a nurse and work in a big hospital.It still never ceases to amaze me the people we have out on our roads and why they just dont get it!!!
I did not do nursing to look after drink drivers on their P plates hooning at 160km on the wrong side of the road at 4am smashing into innocent drivers.Yet,every weekend we get plenty in and last weekend was no different.And seeing their parents reactions its no wonder these guys are doing this sort of behaviour.Consistently it is the same 3 ethnic backgrounds,mama comes in and oh my poor boy,he's a good boy really!!! And then the clincher at talking about the written off hotted up monara,dont worry,we'll buy you a new one!!!! Great,get teh idiot back on the road in a hotted up hoon mobile.

HELLO !!!! How about a kick up the backside,take his keys off him,cut off his money and dont buy him a new high powered car to go out and do the same thing over again,only to kill himself and his mates next time!Makes my blood boil,so many of these parents are in denial about what their precious hoons are up to on a Saturday night drag racing.I tell you what,if these were my kids,their backsides would not sit down for a week and they would not be driving cars that i had paid for and continued to fund.And what gets even better,is if it is a stolen car and they are chased by the police and crash,well its the police's fault,not their precious good boy son!!!!No wonder these kids turn out feral,its because they have been allowed to.
And we have to share the road with them,me,my family,friends and kids.We are the poor innocent cars who they crash into and think it is all a joke.And go out and do it time and time again.
And us nurses are the ones who have to listen to them whine when in hospital how they cant go out for cigarettes because they are in traction stuck in bed.And usually put up with constant abuse from them.
Sorry for the rant,but i am sick and tired of drink drivers and driving under the influence of drugs.I didnt do nursing to look after stupid people.I have all the time in the world for my patients,but people who CHOOSE to drive whilst extremely drunk and kill all their mates and others on the roads,well my sympathy is lacking.

Anyway,on a happier note,had a fabulous day yesterday for melbourne cup,had a bbq at a friends house and spent a day with great company!
Been busy getting in early for christmas shopping and pressie making and hope to be organised!My rearranged dining room is looking great,but still madly decluttering!I have been ruthless and listed a lot of bits and pieces on ebay,hopefully i wont change my mind! But it is nice not to have it sitting around!
On a sad note i have killed off Daisy's 4th fish this month,jimmy junior.Dont know what i am doing,but they keep carking it!Bok Choy,Fishy junior and Fanta have all died of unknown causes!!! Maybe my paint fumes are wafting in? Oh well,the cat enjoyed them! Only joking..........they were suitably buried down the toilet.

Had a good weekend at the markets,found lots of treasures and i have also been able to source some mini lamp shades that i have been after for a while! My curtain tie back pins arrived today after waiting 6 weeks and look great! Well 4 anyway,my hubby's friend Pete decided to help and make the hole bigger for the pins and two split in half!!! AAgghhh,hopefully i can glue them back together!I think it was payback for giving him the flu 2 weeks ago!

Anyway,better go and cook some dinner and will try and read some blogs! I'll put up a few pics of new stuff and ebay listings for the week!

busy busy busy......

Hi ladies,
Wow where does the time go? My last post 3 weeks ago on my way to Sydney,havnt had a spare moment since!
Had a great time,caught up with my lovely friend Josephine and her little Miss Daisy! I have big Daisy,she has little Daisy!Will put a link to her lovely blog when i work out how to do it! She is an author and has a wonderful way with words!!!
Been busy here as usual,bought a lovely pink Moran roses 3 piece loungesuite and a French armoire which i have painted white,so that has kept me out of trouble!So much for getting rid of all the pink in my loungeroom,i have gone straight back to it!Lucky for ebay,i can sell everytime i have a change of decor!
Anyway,have to go upstairs and cook tea before a night in front of my favourite programs!!Will put up some pics of my new loungeroom and armoire,which i just filled up today with all my royal Doulton old country roses and crystal that had been hiding in teh cupboards out of sight!
Also some of my new ebay listings,i have some great French aubusson rugs and lamps!
Will do a much better post tomorrow and catch up on reading some blogs!

On my way to Sydney!!

Hi girls,Finally a chance to catch up,i am sitting at the airport waiting for my plane!!! First bit of peace i have had in weeks!5 glorious days of ME time!!!had a busy time with kids in the holidays and also an unexpected family death,which was quite awful.The funeral was last Friday and was really sad,but it was nice to catch up with a lot of family i hadnt seen in a long time.
I had a really good clean ouit of my work room,its amazing what you find when you havnt looked ina while! I was lucky enough to find a few of my French poste sacks that i thought had long been used up!So i made a few cushions which are currently on ebay!Also had plenty of lamp orders and orders for other things,without fail i find my busiest time is just when i am about to go on holidays and think i am organised and then have to madly sew and pack parcels!! But i cant complain business is good i suppose!!
Am loving all the new shows on tv at the moment,the australian apprentice is hilarious,there are lots of dreadful annoying women to laugh at and the boss guys Mark Bouros,i love how he talks really slowly in case the people listening might have the brain span of a 5 year old and need things simple.Also loving how many times the former Miss Australia can drop her title into a conversation.Too funny!
The new show flash forward looks like a goodie and i am loving packed to the rafters and rush.And guess what,i am so proud! I have given up on home and away after 21 loyal years.I figure that as i am now in my 40's (gasp gasp) i should now watch something a little more intelligent than crap from my teenage years.So i am now addicted to spongebob.yes,really,i love him!!!! And daisy's influence had nothing to do with it!
think i am waffling on now......anyway,if anyone can give me any suggestions of good shops and places to look at in Sydney,much appreciated!!! I tend to stick to the same old places everytime,would be nice to have some new recommendations! I cant believe how crap the weather forecast is for the week,after seeing 30's and high 20's recently,how come its 17 and rain all week????? Not happy Jan! If anyone could do anything about the weather or have a word to someone,it would be muchly appreciated!

Can any American bloggers help me????

Hi girls!!I have a dilemma and need to find something not available here in Australia! I bought these divine vintage glass curtain tie backs and they dont have the hardware included!!We dont have these over here,i have hunted high and low for the screws that go in the middle!! Has anyone seen the centre hardware in any stores or know where i can find them online?I just need the screws in the middle!If anyone could help,i would love you forever,i have been dying to use these with my new curtains!I have included a pic of some with what i need!!

School holidays!!! YEE HAA !!!

Hi Girls,been far to long since i last posted,i really dont know where time gets to!!My Germans left a week ago,i am missing them terribly!But do enjoy the less cooking cleaning washing chauffering,and yelling!!
But it is quiet around here!Have been able to start catching up on lots of things,nameley a good clean!I am decluttering in a very big way,all going on ebay!I know i have hoarding disease and am trying to get on top of it!Not as bad as my friend Kaz though who went through her linen press today and found baby cloth nappies,grow suits and baby toys! Her youngest is 12......
School holidays started today we have some big plans!Tulip festival,melbourne show,beach,catching up with friends,a drive to Warburton!So many nice things to do!And then when all that is over i have given myself a 5 day trip to Sydney the week school goes back!By myself!!!!Bliss........
Been doing a bit of redecorating,trying to organise my work studio which is a mess on steroids,not getting too far!Will post pics when finally sorted into something presentable!Also been tackling the garden which is 2 acres of jungle and stone!Making headway slowly!!Hubby has leave in a few weeks,we may try tackling the outside house painting and have to decide on colours as currently it is black and white!I may through some dark cream into the equation!
The kids had a good week of celebrity hunting!!My son had a good chat to Kevin 07 who turned up at his football grand final as they were against King Lake,who lost a lot of their town in the bushfires!!!Many thousands turned up which was nice!And then Daisy met Fifi Box doing sunrise weather up in our town on Monday!!!She was lovely and Daisy thought far more impressive than our prime minister!!!
Anyway,bette rget back to cooking dinner,tonight is a nice chilli meatball concarne concoction,which may or may not be fabulous!!!
I will put together a page soon of all my favourite recipes as i do love to cook and have some great ones hiding away!Budget and tasty!!!

Back again and feeling sad : (

Hi girls!!! Finally back on again,i have had a few lovely weeks of pneumonia and asthma,so been feeling rotten!Still feeling pretty crappy but on the mend.But i am feeling very sad,my Germans go home tomorrow!We have had a great time,it has gone by very quickly and i will really miss these kids!Especially my son who has had a bit of a romance! We have done so much stuff,it makes you get out and about so much more when you have visitors!Last weekend we went down St Kilda Esplanade and Acland st and Luna Park.Ate fish and chips on the beach,walked along the craft market and ate huge gelati!My son met Chris Lilley from Summer Heights high and was lucky enough to get his pic taken,he was a lovely fellow!And it was filmed at my old school!
Been doing a bit of sewing,but with being ill and having the kids,i just havnt had a lot of time to do much in the last few months,so next week,watch out,i will have some spare time!So much to catch up on,so many ideas!So many painting projects!!!
My hubby is also on holidays,so will put him to work!
Anyway,will go upstairs and spend some time with the kids on their last night here!I have posted a few pics from our weekend and some of my more recent projects!!

New pandora beads

Hi girls!!!! Am using the computer whilst i still have power,we have some wild weather out there,it is blowing a gail and i'm sure trees will be down soon and no power!!!It was 3 degrees this morning when i took Daisy to school,i am still wanting some of that queensland weather!

Sitting here watching airways on channel 7,how do tiger airways think this show is doing them any favours,after watching this show,i will NEVER EVER fly them no matter how cheap their fares are!Speaking of fares,i have just booked my trip to Thailand and Cambodia going Feb next year!!! Cant wait!!

Anyway,going upstairs to veg out,keep the fire going and wait anxiously for the power to go!Better not go before out before i have watched packed to the Rafters!!
